Tokyo Tech and UNESCO Bangkok signed Memorandum of Understanding

Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech) and UNESCO Regional Bureau for Education in Asia and the Pacific (UNESCO Bangkok Office) signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote academic cooperation between Tokyo Tech and UNESCO Bangkok Office.

Gwang-Jo Kim, Director of UNESCO Bangkok Office, visited Tokyo Tech on December 11, 2015. Mr. Kim and Yoshinao Mishima, President of Tokyo Tech, shared recent activities between UNESCO Bangkok and Tokyo Tech before proceeding to the signing ceremony.

The MoU will cover: 1) implementation of joint projects in the field of education, sciences, culture, and communication and information; 2) staff exchange between the parties; and 3) an internship programme to provide selected graduate students of Tokyo Tech with internship opportunities at UNESCO Bangkok.

Prof. Shinobu Yamaguchi and Prof. Jun-ichi Takada joined the signing ceremony, and Mr. Takero Inoue (M3), who conducted two internships at UNESCO Bangkok, attended the ceremony together with Mr. Yusuke Ohya (M1).

This MoU will not only strengthen the tie between Tokyo Tech and UNESCO Bangkok, but also promote globalization of the university and provide its students valuable overseas experiences.
